It defaults to 80×24 and has no way to save it as a preference. Latter I found out that it uses libvte, and change the definition in /usr/share/vte/termcap/xterm
of

to
:co#80:it#8:li#25:\
Will make it always open in 80×25.

First week with LXDE
As my aged laptop feels quite slow for XFCE, I decided to test out LXDE again. I used the pre-build packages from http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackware-13.37/lxde/. So far so good, I used the LXDE without the pcmanfm (I don’t like the way it manage my desktop, and I never feel the need to put stuff on my root window except for background image), it response better than XFCE on my ThinkPad R40 laptop.
